About
For nearly 20 years, Hare in the Gate's films have captured our viewers' imagination by offering stories of traditional culture, the arts, and complex social issues. Whether focusing on Native American heritage, ancient Scottish bagpipe music, disappearing farming towns, or the reinvention of a troubled urban neighborhood, our films portray the fundamental human needs for creativity, diversity, community, and sustainability.
Complementing our filmmaking, we produce still photography, graphic design, and multi-media exhibit design. We also teach and mentor youth in filmmaking, through the Northwest Film Center and other organizations.
Receiving numerous grants and awards, our films have been aired on PBS and have screened in film festivals in the United States and Europe.
